Decay Of Salvation
Reviewed by

March 11th, Bojangles
"Sacramento Metal Fest Debuts
With Impressive Show"
The
next two bands to hit the Bojangles stage were from Southern California
with two separate styles of metal, but both equally entertaining.
The first of these two bands was the death / grind act Decay of
Salvation. This band, comprising of guitarist John, bassist Ed,
drummer Bill and vocalist Alex, mixes both straight ahead quick
death metal riffs with a slower trudgier grind sound while effectively
utilizing blast beats to punctuate parts of songs. Included in
Decay of Salvation's set was the drum led "Flames of Revival",
the hooked riff underneath the heavy guitar tone of "Worship",
and the blast beats of "Covered in Blood". Decay of
Salvation certainly provides the basics when it comes to death
metal, with the intense nature of each song and quick riffing.
These guys have a solid stage presence and mix in some underlying
guitar tones to make a complete heavy sound. If these guys come
through this region again, they would be worth another look with
an extended set and a bigger stage to allow them to really let
loose.
